most of the time it's because you follow >1k people (i like to interact with my mutuals) or only retweet / rarely tweet your own content, if not:
you tweet an excessive amount of nsfw / about things/groups i'm uninterested inyou are problematic or support/defend problematic people/acts, or unjustifiably hateful
reasons for softblocking
i only mute non-mutuals; don't worry if i still follow you! i directly softblock to break the mutual instead because:
it seems like you dislike meyou are problematic or support/defend problematic people/actsyour tweets annoy me or make me uncomfortable (for various reasons)you stopped tweeting about things i'm interested inwe never interact / i haven't seen you on my tl for too long if i unfollowed you rather than softblocking you, it was an accident, dm me!!
